VENERDI D'
ESTATE:
It is a fair organized
by the Oikos in
collaboration with the
Council of Offida which
takes place in the
historical centre of
the town every Friday
during July and August.
During this occasion
you can find typical
local handicrafts,
gifts and fancy goods,
collectable objects,
antiques food and wine
in the magnificent
Piazza del Popolo and
the Council
Building.
August - IL FUSELLO
D' ORO (THE GOLDEN
BOBBIN):
It is a competition
for the lace makers, it
started in 1999. Each
year there is a
particular theme in
which the lace makers
have to carry out their
work in pillow lace.
Themes of the past
years are the
handkerchief (1999);
the jubilee (2000); in
my garden (2001); the
world of music (2002);
the fan (2003); a face
mask (2004).
First Sunday of
August - FESTIVAL OF
THE CHICHI'
RIPIENO:
It is a long lasting
traditional festival,
it is a typical product
of the gastronomy of
Offida. The festival is
held on the first
Sunday of August in
Piazza del Popolo.
First week of August
- BEER
FESTIVAL:
In the last few years
it is held in Piazza
del Popolo the first
week of August (usually
on Friday, Saturday and
Sunday). It is an
attraction for all
those who wish to taste
raw beer of high
quality and also listen
to music. In this
occasion there are also
speciality food stands
with the local
cuisine.
Last week of August
- FESTIVAL OF THE
CASTRATO AND
STROZZAPRETI:
It is held on the last
week of August in the
hamlet of Borgo Miriam.
On this occasion it is
possible to taste the
flour dumplings spiced
with tomato sauce and
mutton stew.
23rd August - FEAST
OF THE BLESSED
BERNARD:
It takes place every
year on the 23rd August
in the Capuchin area.
The programme of the
feast provides a
religious celebration
and civil
attraction.
First week of
September - DI VINO IN
VINO:
For some years, the
Vinea association, in
collaboration with Slow
Food, organizes a wine
manifestation also tied
to the promotion of
local food and wine
specialities. It is a 4
day manifestation in
which you can taste
excellent wines,
cheeses, bread and
typical local products.
The experts will
suggest you the best
quality combinations
with the various
products.
