ACCESSIBILITY OF THE WEBSITE The entire website has been planned on the optics of accessibility for handicapped consumers and for the blind but also for browser who would not be able to visualize the multimedia contents. Each page has been tested on Netscape version 7 and Mozilla Firefox, verifying little difference with regards to Explorer version 6, however those small differences don't entail any obstacle to the accessibility of the website. However the website, internally, gathers alternative pages able to be read by vocal browser, textual analysis and by browser that doesn't support plug-in; also a lot of attention has been given to contents in which to facilitate the reading to the blind (writing, letters of various dimensions, type of characters, spacing etc..) Even the colours have been studied to facilitate the reading for the partially sighted person. The accessibility is also tied to the visualization of browser and different platforms which at times renders a page the entire website inaccessible. This is why we have obtained the 3 identifications evidenced by coupons here under described: Each page of the website has been reordered and corrected in its code, evidenced by the W3C coupon, where anyone can click to it and can verify the real accessibility of the page on the code level HTML 4.01. Each page has also been corrected in the range of CSS, all has been evidenced by the coupon assigned by W3C where anyone can click and can verify the real accessibility on CSS level. The grade of accessibility of the website is joined to the control points of the WAI and it is of first level, evidenced by the A coupon of Bobby's programme even here anyone can click above and can verify the validity of accessibility assigned by Bobby. Unfortunately it hasn't been possible to reach the second and third level of accessibility because of problems tied to the usage of the website which often clashes with the rules of accessibility. Anyway, to obtain a better grade of accessibility, it is better to have human comparison regarding the accessibility joined to the personal sphere of the user (problems tied up to colour blindness or to other visual pathologies or to the problems of epilepsy tied to movement, etc…) declares Bobby. Currently the human comparisons are unsuitable and this is why accessibility of the website has to be seen as a first attempt towards a better grade of accessibility that can be obtained with an interaction with two has problems of accessibility to the website and the website administrator. The fact remains that I have had the pleasure to obtain from the Council of Offida, these three acknowledgments; there are still very few websites in Italy that can boast of such acknowledgments. Amongst these the website of the Region of Liguria, the government website, the website of the European Space of the Region of Emilia Romagna, The St. Camillo hospital, The Italian Blind associationi, and the University of Florence 01/06/2005 The Website Administrator: |
